UNIVERSAL II generation

UNIVERSAL II generation joints are universal joints for pipe failures which connect pipes made from either same or different material.

These joints are used for repairs of pipeline failures when a pipe rupture is of such a length that cutting off pipe and inserting a new piece of pipe is necessary.

Second generation UNIVERSAL joints kept all the positive features and advantages of the first generation joints, but have differences based on the constructive solution resulting with second generation joint’s larger installation lengths and a much wider range of diameter which is covered by one joint, i.e. they are completely universal (see the table).

Because of the stated, UNIVERSAL II generation joints are being dominantly used in the nominal diameter range of DN50 to DN300 due to the fact that they are completely universal and cover all pipe types of the same nominal diameter, even the non-calibrated diameter of asbestos-cement pipes, type D, which is a rarity.
